Hi all,
here is a tutorial about a question that "The Emperor asked me sometime ago: " How can we repaint our old toys?"
So I returned in my lead mountain, took some old ugly hoplites I basically painted in the 90', you'll see it in pictures below with some explanations.
I took some old hoplites from Essex Miniatures I did'nt use for ages:
I peeled off the spears I put to replace the lead spears, then the figures were cut off from their bases.
I directly sprayed the figures on the cardboard where I glued them, firtsly with a black coat then with a mournfang brown spray coat of Citadel spray cans.
Edit: I forgot to write that I have washed them in the Jester bath http://thefrenchjester.blogspot.fr/2013/12/an-alternative-to-turkish-bath.html.).
of course I have prepared the same number of new hoplites to drown the old hoplites in the new ones.
A brushwork on all of them (you can recognize the good old toys by the static grass hidden with some paint) and the help of the Little Big Men Studios transfers.
a long time spent on basing due to the necessity of mixing the old ones and the new ones.
( few close up to see how it is in the end).
I'll be happy if you can leave your comments on this tutorial.
Be seeing you;-)
