une petit message sur mon premier tournoi Field of Glory Napoleonic à l' IWC de Bruxelles
pour résumer la situation à 7 jours du tournoi, il me manquait encore une centaine de figurines à peindre plus les commandements et la ligne de communication et je n'avais que survolé la règle;
le jeudi soir précedent le tournoi j'étais encore en train de floquer les socles;
au final je croyais ètre à peu près "prêt" le vendredi après midi quand nous avons pris la route avec mon ami Svengrossbaf ;-)
une virée dans Bruxelles le vendredi soir, une bonne nuit de sommeil et d'attaque pour le samedi matin :
j'ai choisi de jour le 1er corps de Vandamme (normal de le jouer en Belgique pour être Aware ;-) )
je vais jouer avec Jacques l'organisateur- arbitre- promoteur du tournoi , il joue un corps mixte allié de russes renforcés par toute la garde suédoise de ce traitre de Bernadotte;
au tirage de l'initiative, je reçois le renfort d'un régiment de ligne (bonus de l'écart sur l'initiative), pas prévu cela! oups heureusement Jacques me prète les figurines;
ma brigade de conscrits de la 3ème division renforcée par les lignards protègera ma ligne de communication pendant que mes deux autres divisions attaqueront en masse le village sur la gauche alliée et se rabbattront au centre ( ça c'était le plan, mais cela ne s'est pas tout à fait passé comme ça ;-) voici le déploiement:
le centre russe composé de conscrits et d'artillerie lourde
l'aile gauche française (trop faible ;-) )
le centre et l'aile droite française massée pour l'attaque ( qui ratera ;-) )

trop occupé à essayer de comprendre le jeu, j'ai arrété de prendre des photos
mon attaque mal préparée a été stoppée par le bombardement de l'artillerie lourde et les tirs à bout portant des vétérans russes, pendant que mes conscrits étaient bousculés par la garde suédoise;
russie 1- France 0
2ème partie avec Olivier qui me jouera aussi des russes avec une division de cavalerie lourde qui va écraser mes carrés de conscrits et mes batteries d'artillerie pendant que ses jagers feront un carton sur mes lignards façon stand de tir;

3ème partie le dimanche matin avec Jean luc qui joue les Prussiens de Blucher et moi je vais prendre cher sans toucher terre ;-)
la 4ème partie avec Steve qui joue des Français pour me montrer qu'on peut gagner avec une armée Française, Steve est un joueur très Fair play , il connait très bien la règle est m'explique pleins de trucs tout le long de la partie et me donne pleins de conseils; partie super agréable que je perds aussi,
4 grosses défaites;
Moralité:
la règle avant de jouer, tu liras!
des parties avant le tournoi, tu feras!
du Napo tu repeindras!

a small post on my first Field of Glory Napoleonic Tournament to the IWC Brusselsto summarize the situation seven days before the tournament, still missed around hundred figurines to paint, the commands and the line of communication and I had only flown the rule;
Thursday evening tournament I was still flocking the bases;
in the end I thought I was almost ready Friday afternoon when we hit the road with my friend Svengrossbaf
a trip in Brussels on Friday evening, a good night's sleep and ready to attack on Saturday morning:
I chose the first corps of Vandamme (normal thinking to play him in Belgium to be Aware;-))
I'll play with Jacques the organizer-promoter -referee of the tournament, he plays a mixed body of Russian reinforced by all the Swedish guard of the traitor Bernadotte;
draw the initiative, I get the backing of a line regiment (bonus gap on the initiative), not expected that! oops happily Jacques lent me the figures;
my brigade of the 3rd division of conscripts reinforced by linemen protecting my line of communication while my other two divisions mass attacking the village on the Allied left and turning after against the center (that was the plan, but it 's is not quite happen like that here;-)

too busy trying to understand the game, I stopped to take pictures ( sorry!)
my poorly prepared attack was stopped by the artillery bombardment and heavy gunfire at point blank Russian veterans, while my conscripts were jostled by the Swedish guard;

Second game: I played with Olivier also a Russian with a heavy cavalry division that crushed my square of conscripts and my artillery batteries while his Jagers hannilited my linemen by shooting;

3rd game on Sunday morning playing with Jean luc Blucher's Prussians and I'll make landfall without expensive;-)

4th game: with Steve who played French to show me that you can win with a French army, Steve is a player a very Fair player and a nice Guy, he knows very well the rule, He explained me a lot of things throughout the game and gave me some solid advice;
4 large losses;
to summerize:
rule before playing, you 'll read!training before the tournament, you will do!more Napoleonic figures you will paint!
